In a medium sized pot, add the chopped pears and water. Cover with a lid.
Cook the pears and water for 30-40 minutes, until softened.
Remove the pot from the heat, and add the vanilla, cloves, red pepper flakes and ginger.
Create a smooth puree using an immersion blender, regular blender or a food processor. If you don't have any of those, then mash the pear butter with a potato masher and call that texture pure love and rustic styling!
